If you are interested in
installing your own ISP in your tribal organization, contact us at dwetz@wtp.net and we can help you. We also have
training facilities available.
Purpose: To install and train to use I.S.P. (Internet
Service Provider) equipment so tribes in Montana and Wyoming can communicate extensively
and provide Internet service throughout the reservations.
Computer server equipment will be installed on their
reservations which will allow each tribe to provide low cost, high speed Internet access
to their own departments and to other users on their reservations.
If the Internet is currently provided on a reservation, it
more than likely is long distance (through AOL) or a non-Tribal owned organization. A lot
of the time there is a limit on the hours used. With this new project, all of the above
will be controlled by the Tribes. The profit will come back through to the Tribe and not
into a non-tribal organization. Each of the Tribal governments on the Indian reservations
will decide how to operate their subscription service. The Tribes will notice substantial
savings in time and money by using the Internet.
