CHEYENNE — The Wind River has reached flood stage at Dubois and minor flooding is expected along the river this weekend, including at Riverton.

The National Weather Service says warmer temperatures have increased the amount of snowmelt flowing into rivers and streams this week in much of Wyoming.

The Wind River is expected to exceed flood stage at Riverton this morning and peak on Sunday before falling.

A flood warning also has been posted for the Tongue River in northern Wyoming at Ranchester.

Thunderstorms forecast for areas of the state today could cause problems if they dump a lot of rain.

In southeast Wyoming, there's some good news as the North Platte River is slowly falling near Sinclair although it is still above flood stage.
