Notification of Amendment No. 4 to the Major Disaster Declaration for the State of Montana (FEMA-1996-DR)
This email is to notify you that the major disaster declaration for the State of Montana, FEMA-1996-DR, has been amended designating Blaine, Broadwater, Carter, Chouteau, Fallon, Flathead, Golden Valley, Madison, Park, Phillips, Pondera, Powell, Rosebud, Toole, and Wibaux Counties and the Fort Peck Reservation for Individual Assistance (already designated for Public Assistance).

On June 17, 2011, President Obama issued a major disaster declaration for the State of Montana, triggering the release of Federal funds to help people and communities recover from the Severe Storms occurring April 3, 8, 22, 26, and 30, 2011; May 9-10, 18-21, and 30, 2011; and flooding resulting from those storms beginning on April 4, 2011, through July 22, 2011. This disaster declaration has been amended as indicated below in bold. Details of the disaster declaration and assistance programs are as follows:

Designated Counties: Big Horn, Blaine, Broadwater, Carbon, Carter, Cascade, Chouteau, Custer, Daniels, Dawson, Deer Lodge, Fallon, Fergus, Flathead, Garfield, Glacier, Golden Valley, Granite, Hill, Jefferson, Judith Basin, Lewis and Clark, Liberty, Madison, McCone, Meagher, Musselshell, Park, Petroleum, Phillips, Pondera, Powder River, Powell, Prairie, Ravalli, Richland, Roosevelt, Rosebud, Sheridan, Stillwater, Sweet Grass, Teton, Toole, Treasure, Valley, Wheatland, Wibaux, and Yellowstone Counties, and the Blackfeet Indian, Crow, Fort Belknap, Northern Cheyenne, and Rocky Boy's Reservations.
Hazard Mitigation: Assistance for actions taken to prevent or reduce long-term risk to life and property from natural hazards.
Designated Counties: All counties and Indian Tribes in the State of Montana are eligible to apply for assistance under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.
OTHER: Additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the State and warranted by the results of further damage assessments.
